Steve's is our favorite place to eat in Helena! We live about 90 miles away, and when we go to Helena, we go to Steve's! It is a great pre-incentive for my husband for having to go through Costco with me. This is such a great little diner. One thing I love is that they have a separate gluten-free menu that includes breakfast and lunch! I don't have to second guess (or ask!) what is okay for me to order. The service has always been great— every hostess, every server—they all appear to love their job! Even when they are busy, they are attentive! My favorite menu item is the gluten-free Huckleberry Waffle. (I even remembered to take a picture, even though I was already elbow deep in it!) I order it every time, along with a Denver Omlette and hashbrowns. (I have a big appetite, and it shows! Lol) My husband jumps around the menu more than I do, but he LOVES the bacon and will get a side of it with whatever he is ordering!

Overall not a bad breakfast. Couple of misses on the execution piece, but still a solid meal. Hash browns were supposed to be extra crispy and were quite soft. The avocado was pretty bruised and had a lot of areas that I removed before eating. The country gravy was legit! Thick and creamy. The sausage links in the omellete were also awesome. The NY strip was very underwhelming. Minimal flavor, inconsistent cook, and quite fatty. There were areas that were well done and dry and areas that were medium rare and chewy. The chimichurri was also not great, it had separated and lacked flavor. Next time I’ll likely get the biscuits and gravy as another table got them and they looked incredible!
